Dr. Lisa Yoon is the Executive Director of SOLUM, an AI-powered learning platform that empowers students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to become meaningful contributors to society. By partnering with school districts, corporations, and nonprofits, she leverages inclusive design to elevate human potential while driving measurable impact at the bottom line.
Previously, Dr. Yoon led Assessment & Accountability at ABC Unified School District, where she managed state-funded Title I college and career readiness programs for 18,000 students and spearheaded district-wide data and equity audits. She also piloted Andy’s Café, a social enterprise powered by first-of-its-kind training modules that demonstrated how technology—when harnessed to support rather than replace human capability—can generate both dignity and revenue. Dr. Yoon earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from Loyola Marymount University, an M.A.T. in Special Education from Rhode Island College, and a B.A. in Intercultural Communication from Pepperdine University. She is certified in conflict management through Pepperdine’s Straus Institute. She has conducted extensive research on AAPI data disaggregation, co-authoring the first-ever National AAPI Equity Audit of PK–12 Public Education Systems in the United States. Her scholarship includes numerous peer-reviewed academic articles, monographs, and research reports. Known for blending rigorous data with social impact, Dr. Yoon advises schools and nonprofits on inclusive practices and speaks nationwide about the market and societal value of disability-forward innovation. Her guiding principle is simple: a rising tide lifts all boats—and we rise by lifting one another. |
